Toddler & Preschool Tennis Singapore
Pee Wee Tennis · Ages 3–5 · Play-Based & Fun · Certified Coaches · Indoor & Island-Wide
Can a three-year-old really play tennis? Not a full match — but this is the perfect age to fall in love with movement, catching, throwing and hitting. At TAG International Tennis Academy, our toddler and preschool tennis in Singapore — our Pee Wee programme — turns those first years into playful, confidence-building sessions that quietly lay the foundations for a lifetime of sport. No pressure, no drills that feel like school; just fun games with a soft ball, a small racket and a coach who knows how little ones learn.
What Pee Wee Tennis Looks Like
Sessions for ages 3–5 are built around fundamental movement skills rather than tennis technique. Using foam balls, mini rackets and low nets, coaches run short, high-energy games that develop hand–eye coordination, balance, agility and the simple joy of hitting a ball. Attention spans are short at this age, so we keep activities varied, colourful and full of small wins — every child leaves feeling like a champion.
🏃 Move & Balance
Running, hopping, stopping and changing direction — the movement base every young athlete needs, taught through games.
🎾 Catch & Hit
Rolling, catching, throwing and gentle hitting with soft balls build the hand–eye coordination that tennis strokes grow from.
😊 Confidence & Focus
Taking turns, listening and trying again — the social and focus skills that help at tennis and in the classroom alike.
Private or Small-Group — Which Suits a Little One?
For toddlers, a one-on-one private tennis lesson lets the coach move entirely at your child’s pace — ideal for shy or very young children. A tiny group session with one or two friends of the same age adds turn-taking and social fun. Many families start private and graduate into a group as their child grows. When your child is ready for structured strokes, they move naturally into our kids tennis lessons for ages 3–17, and you can see every option on our tennis coaching programmes page.
Where Toddler Lessons Happen
Convenience matters most with young children. Our coaches come to you — your condominium court is often the easiest option, keeping nap times and travel stress to a minimum. Prefer a cool, sheltered space? Our indoor courts at Winchester Tennis Arena run rain or shine, out of the midday heat. School holidays are a lovely time to try a first taste of tennis through our junior holiday tennis camps. The Pee Wee approach is part of the wider TAG International junior pathway — you can read about the full junior group programmes and junior tennis camps run by our parent organisation, TAG International.
Frequently Asked Questions — Toddler Tennis Singapore
What is the youngest age you coach?
We typically start children from age 3 in our Pee Wee sessions. At this age the focus is entirely on movement, coordination and fun rather than tennis technique.
How long is a session for a toddler?
Usually 30 to 45 minutes — matched to a young child’s attention span. Sessions are broken into short, varied games so your child stays engaged and finishes wanting more.
Do I need to buy a racket first?
No. Coaches bring child-sized rackets and soft foam balls for the first sessions. If your child continues, we will recommend a suitable junior racket — there is no need to buy anything upfront.
Can I stay and watch?
Absolutely — and for the youngest children it often helps them settle. Parents are welcome to watch, and coaches will guide you on how to encourage without distracting.
