Group Tennis Lessons Singapore
Junior & Adult Groups · Weekdays & Weekends · Island-Wide · All Levels from Age 3
Group tennis lessons at TAG International combine structured coaching with the energy, motivation, and competitive dynamics that only come from training alongside other players. This isn’t a cost-cutting alternative to private coaching — it’s a deliberately designed learning environment with advantages that one-on-one sessions simply cannot replicate: match-readiness, social accountability, and the competitive instincts that only develop when real points are on the line.
🎾 Junior Group Programmes
TAG’s junior group programmes are structured by age and ability level — not just age. Every child is assessed before placement so they train with peers at the same developmental stage. Sessions are designed to be technically rigorous and genuinely enjoyable — because long-term improvement depends entirely on consistent attendance, and consistent attendance depends on enjoyment.
🐣 Pee Wee (Ages 4–5)
Fun-first introduction to racket sports. Eye-hand coordination games, movement activities, and play-based learning. Associates tennis with joy before formal technique begins.
✊ Grippers (Ages 6–7)
Where it all begins. Forehand, backhand, volley, and serve fundamentals — with loads of mini tennis games that keep children engaged and coming back for more.
🎾 Hitters (Ages 7–11)
Takes junior tennis to the next level. Movement-oriented drills, all strokes, and point play introduce children to the real competitive game progressively.
🏆 Players (Ages 11–17)
Competitive juniors developing through Levels 1–4. Directional hitting, tactical point play, physical conditioning, and tournament preparation.

Frequently Asked Questions — Group Tennis Lessons
How many students are in a TAG group lesson?
Group sizes range from 4 to 8 players depending on level and format. Beginner and junior groups tend to be smaller (4–6) to allow more individual coach attention. Advanced adult groups may run slightly larger. We cap sizes to maintain coaching quality at every session.
How do I know which group level is right for me?
When you contact TAG to join a group, we conduct a brief level assessment — either a short trial session or a structured skills questionnaire — to place you correctly. If you find after a few sessions that the level isn’t right, we reassign you. No cost, no fuss.
Can beginners join group lessons immediately?
Yes. TAG runs dedicated beginner and novice group lessons specifically designed for players with zero prior experience. You need no prior knowledge to join — just willingness to learn. The group setting actually helps beginners feel less self-conscious, since everyone is at the same stage.
Are group lessons suitable for children?
Group lessons are especially effective for children. Young people learn by watching and competing with peers — this is fundamental to how children develop motor skills and competitive instincts. TAG’s junior group programmes are built around this principle at every age from 3 upwards.
What happens if my child misses a group lesson?
We understand that schedules change. Please give us as much notice as possible. Depending on the programme, a makeup session may be available at another time slot. Contact your coach or our team via WhatsApp to arrange this.
How many lessons per week does a competitive junior need?
For juniors competing at club or national level, we recommend 2–4 sessions per week — ideally a combination of group and private lessons. Group sessions build match sense and competitive volume; private sessions address specific technical weaknesses. The combination is more powerful than either alone.
How do I choose the right tennis coach for my child?
Look for coaches who are Tennis Singapore-accredited, registered under CoachSG NROC, and have experience with the age group in question. All TAG coaches meet these standards. View our full coach profiles to find the best match for your child’s age and goals.
Do group lessons allow for individual improvement?
Yes — this is a common misconception. TAG group sessions are carefully planned with level-matched groups and coach-structured progressions. Coaches deliver targeted individual feedback within the flow of group drills. When a player outgrows their group level, they are moved up. Every session is designed so each player keeps progressing.
Where are group lessons held?
Group sessions run across multiple locations in Singapore — at Winchester Tennis Arena, and at partner clubs including The Tanglin Club, Chinese Swimming Club, SAFRA, Home Team NS, and public courts across Singapore. WhatsApp us to find the nearest available group to you.
What is the cancellation policy?
For group lessons tied to a term programme, the term fee is non-refundable once commenced, though makeup sessions may be available. For ad hoc or block-booked group sessions, please give 24 hours’ notice. WhatsApp our team directly to reschedule.
Is group or private coaching better?
Both. They serve different purposes — and many TAG students use both simultaneously. Choose group if you want competitive practice, social training, or more sessions per week within your budget. Choose private lessons if you need specific technical correction, tournament preparation, or one-on-one focus. The two formats complement each other perfectly.
Do you offer indoor group lessons?
Yes. Group sessions run at Winchester Tennis Arena — Singapore’s only fully sheltered indoor tennis courts — ensuring your group lesson is never cancelled due to rain. Outdoor group sessions at club venues are subject to weather; in case of rain, makeup sessions are arranged.
